Chapter 9: Saving and Loading From Disk
Page 175
If you modify the conversion table from the factory-preset defaults, your
changes will be retained in memory even after power is turned off, so
that the next time you load a Version 2 sequence, it will be converted
using your edited conversion assignments.
COMMENT: An ST1 file is a SET file that is too large to fit on a
single disk, so it is saved in two parts: FILENAME.ST1 (the first
disk) and FILENAME.ST2 (the second disk). After you load an
ST1 file, a message will appear on the screen asking you to
insert the disk containing the ST2 file associated with the ST1
just loaded. Other than this additional message screen, loading
ST1 files is identical to loading SET files.
To load only one sound from the SET or ST1 file
If 2 (Load one sound from the SET file) is selected from the Load SET or
ST1 File menu screen, the following screen will appear:
=== Load One Sound From SET/ST1 File ==A
Sound:BIG_SOUND Size: 0K
Free(snd): 793K
========================================
<Do it>
The fields and soft keys are:
• The Sound field:
This field contains an alphabetical list of the sounds in the file. Use the
Data Entry Knob to select one of the sounds.
• The Size field:
This shows the amount of memory in kilobytes that will be required in
order to load the selected sound.
• The Free(snd) field:
This shows the number of free kilobytes in sound memory.
• The <Do it> soft key:
Pressing this soft key loads the sound from the file.
COMMENT: If a single sound is being loaded from an ST1 file
and the actual sound to be loaded exists on the corresponding
ST2 disk, a screen will appear asking you to insert the ST2 disk.
