Chapter 9: Saving and Loading From Disk
Page 170
To load a single sequence, enter the sequence number from the ALL file
that you want to load in the Load seq field, and the destination sequence
number in memory in the Into seq field, then press <Do it>.
If the file is an MPC60 version 1 or 2 ALL file
If the ALL file is a MPC60 version 1 or 2 file, additional screens are
presented, just as when an MPC60 version 1 or 2 SEQ file is loaded.
(See the section above entitled, “Loading an MPC60 Version 1 or 2 SEQ
file.”) The only difference is that in this case, each sequence within the
ALL file will be converted using the pad-to-note conversion table.
Loading a SND File (Single Sound)
If a SND file is selected and <Load it> is pressed, the sound loads
immediately. No other screens are presented. To assign the newly
loaded sound to be played from a pad, you must press SOUNDS, then 1
(“Assign sounds, Select Program”).
COMMENT: The maximum sound size that will fit on one floppy
disk is 13.1 seconds mono or 6.5 seconds stereo. If a larger
sound file is saved to a floppy, the MPC60 will automatically
save it as two “split” sound files, each of which fits on a single
disk. The first part has “{1}” added to the end of the sound name
and has a file size of 773K. The second part has “{2}” added to
the end of the sound name and contains the remaining portion of
the sound. If you attempt to load one of these “part 1” files, the
MPC60 will prompt you afterwards to insert the disk containing
the associated part 2 file. The part 2 file cannot be loaded by
itself.
Loading a PGM File (Single Program and Sounds)
A program file (FILENAME.PGM) contains all information about the
program except the actual sound data used in the program. When
loading a program file, each sound file used by the program is loaded at
the same time. If a PGM file is selected for load, the following screen
appears:
