separately as two mono sounds, then later combining them into a single
stereo sound.
To create a stereo sound:
1. Sample the left side of your stereo sound as a mono sound.
2. Sample the right side of your stereo sound as another mono sound.
3. Press SOUNDS, then 9, then 1, “Make stereo from 2 mono sounds”.
Read “Stereo sampling” further in this chapter for more information.
An example of sampling a new mono sound:
The following is a step-by-step example of how to record a mono sound
from the analog input:
1. Connect a mono audio signal source to the REC IN jack.
2. Press the SOUNDS key, then select 5 from the menu screen. The
Sample New Sound screen will appear.
3. Set the fields to the following values:
Set Length(sec) to 1
Set Monitor to ON
Set Record Level to 50
Set Threshold%(T) to 1
Set Pre-record to 1
4. While playing the source signal and watching the screen meter, adjust
the rear panel GAIN switch and on-screen Record Level field so that the
screen meter goes as far to the right as possible when the sound plays,
but not into the clipping region (clipping is indicated by ! to the right of the
meter).
5. To begin sampling, press <Rec ready>. The bottom line of the screen
will display Rec lite=ON when sound rec'd... <Cancel>.
6. Play the sound into the audio input. Sampling starts once the record
threshold is exceeded at the audio input, indicated by the light over the
REC button turning on.
7. When recording finishes, the screen changes to:
