Chapter 6: Creating and Editing Programs
Page 114
2. If the received note’s velocity is greater than the value
in the first If over field but less than or equal to the
value in the second If over field, then only the note
number selected in the first use field plays.
3. If the received note’s velocity is greater than the value
in the second If over field, then only the sound
assigned to the note number selected in the second
use field plays.
(The second If over field is limited to values at least
one higher than the first If over field.)
In the above example, if you hit pad A03 softly you'll hear the
Soft snare sound. Hit it harder and you'll hear the Smack
snare. Hit even harder and you'll hear the Goliath snare.
COMMENT: If you only want to switch between 2
sounds, then select the same note number in both use
fields and use the first If over field to set the threshold.
COMMENT: Regardless of which pad plays, the
individual program parameter data (tuning, envelope,
velocity data, etc.) for each of the three note numbers
are used but only the main note number’s mixer data
(mix volume and pan, output assignment, and
output/echo send level) are used. The advantage of this
is that it is only necessary to adjust the volume and pan,
for example, of the main sound in the mix instead of all
three sounds.
4. DCY SW (decay switch):
This option permits one of three sounds to play depending on
the value of the Decay field in the “Envelope, Velocity,
Tune...” screen. However, if any drum notes contain Note
Variation decay data, it will override the Decay field’s for that
note only. (The Envelope, Velocity, Tune... screen is
accessed by pressing the SOUNDS key and selecting option
2.)
If selected, the screen appears the same as if the VEL SW
option above were selected, except that in this case one of
three sounds will play depending on the current envelope
decay setting instead of the note’s velocity setting:
