SYNCHRONISATION
SETTING TIMECODE OFFSETS
Pressing OFFSETS (F5/F6) on the SYNC page will take you to the following page:
Sometimes, it is necessary to set an offset between the system and an external machine. For
example, your project may start at 00:00:00:00 but your timecode source start at 10:00:00:00.
Using this page, you may set offsets so that the two machines play in sync without you having
to extensively modify the project’s start time.
The parameters on this page are:
RECEIVER When the RECEIVER field is set to ON, the offset will be added to/
subtracted from the incoming timecode so that the selected machine
and external time are locked at the current absolute/relative time posi-
tion.
When the RECEIVER field is set to OFF, the offset will not be added to/
subtracted from the incoming timecode.
GENERATOR When the GENERATOR field is set to ON, the offset will be added to/
subtracted from the output timecode.
When the GENERATOR field is set to OFF, no offset will be applied to
the timecode output.
If the project starts at 00:00:00:00.0 but the incoming timecode starts at 1 hour, you should set
a TIMECODE RECEIVE OFFSET of -01:00:00:00.0. This will subtract 1 hour from the incom-
ing timecode, thereby effectively providing the system with timecode starting at 00:00:00:00.0.
Conversely, if the project starts at, say, 10 hours but the incoming timecode starts at 1 hour, you
would need to set +09:00:00:00.0 in the RECEIVER field, adding 9 hours to the incoming
timecode so that it plays from 10 hours.
