SYSTEM SETUP
GPIO SETUP
Some machines may be fitted with an interface that offers several GPIs (General Purpose Inputs)
and GPOs (General Purpose Outputs) that may be used for a variety of purposes. For example,
the GPIs may be used for track arming control from an external mixing console with the GPOs
providing track status tallies.
If the selected machine is a DD8 or DR16pro that has this option available pressing the GPIO key
on the REMOTE page will take you to the GPIO SETUP page:
This screen allows you to configure the GPIO board in MAG or MULTITRACK modes.
The parameters on this page are:
MODE In MAG mode, the GPIs assigned for track selections are momentary
(they are triggered by a pulse).
In MULTITRACK mode, the GPIs assigned for track selections are level
triggered. (they are held at one level to select a track and at the other
level to deselect it).
PUNCH IN This parameter is only shown when MULTITRACK mode is selected
and is used to select how the machine will start recording.
The available options are:
REC + PLAY The machine will start recording when both
GPI ‘RECORD’ and ‘PLAY’ commands are
activated at the same time.
REC ONLY The machine will start recording when a GPI
‘RECORD’ command is received on its own.
TRACK COMMANDS With this option, the machine will behave as if
it is in MAG mode, but track selections will be
level triggered. Record track commands will
only be accepted while the transport is in
motion. When the transport motion stops, all
record track selections are cleared.
