DISK MANAGEMENT
Once you have a number of projects saved, it follows that you will want to load them again! You
may also want to initialise the system in order to create a new project from scratch.
LOAD
Pressing DISK will give you this screen:
Here you can see a list of projects on the currently selected disk. As is the convention in file lists,
if there are projects ‘above’ or ‘below’ the screen, an upwards and/or downwards pointing arrow
will be shown ( / ). You may view and load projects on other disks by moving the cursor to the
DISK field and selecting an external drive as appropriate.
To load a project, simply select the one you want and press the flashing EXECUTE key.
As the project is loaded you will see a status bar on the LCD showing you which tracks are being
loaded:
When several machines are connected to the RE32 to expand the total number of tracks available,
the system will behave as if there is a single ‘multi-track’ project containing all of these tracks.
However, in reality each connected machine maintains its own internal project containing data for
the tracks assigned to that machine.
When MULTI is selected in the TRACKS field, the RE32 will tell each connected machine to load
its local project and you will see the status bar change as each individual machine’s project is
loaded on to the corresponding tracks.
In MULTI mode, the system assumes there is a project of the same name available on each
machine on a disk at the same SCSI ID. If one of these individual project files cannot be found, you
will receive a message indicating which tracks failed to load:
Pressing EXECUTE will skip the tracks on the machine that failed to load and continue loading
tracks into the next machine in the system. Pressing EXIT will abort the process and return the
system to its original state.
You can also choose to load a project on a specific machine. To do this, select the appropriate
machine in the TRACKS field. To avoid confusion, the machines are listed by the tracks they
represent. For example, machine 1 may be shown as “1-16”, machine 2 as “17-32” etc..
As each machine is selected, the screen will update to show the list of local projects available on
this machine. As before, to load a project, simply select the one you want and press the flashing
EXECUTE key.
