Chapter 8: Creating and Editing Sounds
As the screen explains, sampling is finished. The Meter section of
the screen shows the highest peak levels received during recording.
You can now hear the new sound by pressing <Play/stop>. If
you don’t like it and want to sample again, press <Discard>. If
you want to keep it and give it a name, press <Keep&name>, and
the following screen will appear:
============ Name New Sound ============
Name for new sound:Sound_001_______
(Turn data knob to enter LETTER mode,
type name with letter keys & press ENTER
when done. To assign sound to a program,
press PROGRAM/SOUNDS key, option 1.)
========================================
<Done>
Naming the sound is done in the same way as renaming a sequence
in the Play/Record screen. When finished naming the sound, press
<Done>.
• The <Reset P> (Reset Peak) soft key:
The level meter displays a moving letter P. This shows the highest
peak audio level that has been received. To reset this peak level,
press this soft key. When <Rec ready> is pressed, the peak level
is automatically reset.
COMMENT: The audio input jacks on the rear panel are
balanced inputs having a high, low and ground connection
using a standard stereo phone jack:
Ground Low High
However, standard mono phone plugs will work fine—the low
connection will simply connect to ground.
