Chapter 7: The MIXER/EFFECTS Key
The Individual Outputs/Effects Mixer
In addition to the stereo outputs, the MPC3000 provides eight
individual mix outputs and an internal effects generator. The mixer
described in this chapter allows each of the sounds to be assigned to
one of the eight assignable mix outputs or to the internal effects
generator. The level of this assignment is controllable independently
of the stereo mix level.
To access the Individual Outputs/Effects Mixer screen, press the
MIXER/EFFECTS key, then select option 2. The following screen
will appear:
Similar to the Stereo Mix screen, this screen presents a graphic
simulation of a multi-channel mixer, showing a simulated volume
slider and an output assignment for each of the 16 pads in pad bank
A (A01-A16). To view other pad banks, press the PAD BANK key.
To adjust the volume level of the individual outputs or effects for a
particular sound:
1. Press the pad for the sound that you want to adjust; the small
triangle on the screen will move directly above the number of the
selected pad.
2. Rotate the data entry control. As you turn it, the graphic volume
slider will move up or down, indicating that the volume of the
selected sound at the individual outputs (or at the effects genera-
tor input) is being changed. The graphic volume slider can be
thought of as an auxiliary or effects send on a hardware mixing
board.
To change the assignment to the individual outputs or effects for a
particular sound:
1. Press the pad for the sound that you want to adjust; the small
triangle on the screen will move directly above the number of the
selected pad;
2. Press the CURSOR UP key. The small triangle will now point
upwards, toward the number (or E for effects) indicating the
current output assignment.
